Using this blog

U

My purpose behind the writing of these blogs? I hope that you find them useful, in whatever context you find yourself. Just in case you want some more ideas, consider these starters:

Conversation starters

What would happen if you shared an entry with your adult children, someone whom you visit, your caregivers or your pastor? Perhaps one of these blogs could function as the opening of a conversation you really want to start!

Small group sharing

These blogs are short—only 300 words—so they will only get better when you and others add your wisdom and experience to any topic that comes up here. Could one of these entries be helpful for in-depth, honest sharing of thoughts when you sit around and talk with others?

A newsletter column

Perhaps your organization or church has a newsletter? Perhaps the editor is looking for material to fill out space? These blogs are just the right size for insertion into publications, e-mails or bulletin boards. (Be sure to add a credit line naming FullofYears.org as the source!)

Your prayers and devotions

These aren’t devotional writings in the usual sense of the term. But you can probably find prayer-starters, matters for meditation and implied invitations for reading the Scriptures of your faith family.

Journaling

If you’re one of those rare and wonderful folks who keep a journal or diary, any of these entries can be something you react to. Positively, negatively, appreciatively, curiously….

However you use these blogs, I hope that they provide encouragement for your life. That they start you in a different direction or bring you up short. That you see yourself in a more-appreciative or discerning way. That, because of these entries, you remain glad to be alive!

That’s enough of a reason for me to keep writing….
